We’ve spent almost $300 on pots alone, so it adds up VERY quickly! It’ll feel a little easier when things can just go directly in the ground.

I’m compiling a post about what / how to grow when you have minimal space, so maybe that will have some helpful tips :) And yes to the lavender, I’ve never had it fresh, so I’m pretty excited!

There may be a few things you won’t be able to grow (if it needs a trellis), but I’ve found most plants are fine with being moved between sun + shade :) It’s definitely fun for experimentation no matter what happens! But sometimes I wish Mother Nature would play along a bit better, haha.

Now I know that reason all too well :) Thank you for the well wishes!

Your potted plants are doing so well! I know how expensive all those pots can add up to, I’m sure you can’t wait to have a yard to plant in!

We want to put some window boxes in outside of our apartment but I’m not sure we can because of the windowsills. Love hearing that you’re growing lavender–that’s one I would love to have fresh!

My grandmother is big on gardening, so I grew up watching her grow all sorts of wonderful produce. It wasn’t until just a few years ago that I gave it a try myself, and it’s delightful! Fingers crossed that you get a good harvest. :D

As it stands I have a planter with four tomato plants that gets 4-5 hours of sun a day. If only we could pool our natural resources and share a bit–we can start our planting earlier than most of the country BUT by the time July rolls around the poor plants suffer in the heat and drought. It is fun to experiment, though!

However, you can get 5 gallon food-safe buckets at restaurant supply stores as well as home brewing stores. They can’t be much more expensive! I think I’ll do this next time!
