It’s finally official… it’s fall in the Western hemisphere! This season is my personal favorite. The changing colors, the cold mornings, the rustling leaves, the need for a warm sweatshirt or socks at all times; autumn is perfection for my heart.
This year fall is bittersweet. While I’m happy to embrace pumpkin and gourd season, I’m sad to say goodbye to my summer crops. After this week’s tomato harvest, my garden is winding down for the year. Swiss chard still peeks from around corners, and the last few peppers and tomatoes cling to their plants while they wait to ripen.
I can’t imagine my days free from hand-picking pests and checking for garden issues, or nights without harvests and garden fresh food. But fall is finally here, and I’m ready to embrace it all: the good and the bittersweet. Here’s to fall and all the inspiration it brings!
