Rain is one my favorite kinds of weather. It takes every ounce of energy to push myself to work when I wake up to a rainy, calm day with cool winds blowing and a dark, grey sky overhead. So when we arrived in Vermont for my birthday / trip through the mountains and it was downpouring, I knew the trip would still be amazing.
Even though rain doesn’t create the best backdrop for adventure, there were so many beautiful moments pushed into our day because of the weather. Finding cover under thickly wooded areas in attempts to get a picture of the scenery. Sporadically returning to the motel for dry sweaters and a quick snuggle. Sharing hot cocoa at night because the chill of the rain soaked into our skin.
I still have a crazy amount of photography to edit and sort through from our trip; normally I tackle photo editing the day I return from traveling, but going unplugged made me push this task off. We weren’t able to capture tons of video during the trip because of the rain, but this video makes my heart swell. Little snippets and moments of our trip in Vermont, and all the reasons we love the laid-back, nature-filled vibe of this beautiful state.
