Introducing: The Golden Bee! {Giveaway}

Over the past several months, I’ve been humbled to share many small shop owners’ stories. As I’ve worked with artists, woodworkers, and other talented folks, there’s been a common theme: The desire for independence, happiness, and self-expression.

These desires hit close to home and are some of the (many) reasons I’ve been dreaming of opening my own small shop. But, there was always a laundry list of reasons why I couldn’t open up a shop in addition to a full-time job, homesteading practices (from scratch, growing your own food, etc.), and family/relationship/friend responsibilities.

You know what I have to say to that now? Hog wash!

If you really want something, no restriction can stop you. It’s doable. It’s manageable. It’s achievable. Remind yourself of that next time you start to say “I can’t”. You can, you just have to find a way.

I’m humbled, nervous, and excited all at once to introduce you to my new shop… The Golden Bee!

The Golden Bee is here to give you handmade quality at an affordable price. All items will be handcrafted, handmade, and hand packaged with care. All proceeds from this shop go directly to my savings fund to start my own organic farm and animal sanctuary.

The Golden Bee will start out with handmade delights and vintage finds, and will eventually transition into my online marketplace for farm fresh goods.

To celebrate the launch of The Golden Bee, I’m offering a custom order dreamcatcher for one lucky reader! You can choose from a variety of dreamcatcher designs at The Golden Bee, or you can completely custom order from scratch and specify colors/materials/etc.

Win a custom made dreamcatcher from Belong With Wildflowers! In celebration of launching her first shop (The Golden Bee), Caitlin is giving away a completely customized dreamcatcher for one lucky winner. Giveaway ends 9/20/14.

Contest Rules:
Enter for as many (or few) chances as you would like starting Sunday, September 14, 2014. A winner will be chosen at random at the close of the giveaway, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:59PM EST. All entries will be checked for confirmation. The winner will be contacted by email and must respond within 48 hours confirming acceptance of the giveaway prizes. If no answer is received within 48 hours, a random runner-up will be chosen. Once the winner has responded to the email, it will be announced on Belong With Wildflowers. Oh my gosh! This is amazing, and so inspiring. I’m working on a page of small businesses that I support and love, please say you’ll let me put your link up!

Oh, and I had an idea for a dream catcher! You could use weather proof material and make some that can hang outdoors, since as you know, a lot of people do their dreaming from their gardens!

      • http://belongwithwildflowers.com/ Caitlin

Oooh – I love this idea! I’m going to start researching weather proof materials to do this :) Lovely idea!

Love your dreamcatchers, and congrats on taking this big step! I sell scarves on Etsy and love it, though my options are limited to “Harry Potter”-inspired designs at the moment, haha. It’s really fun and nice to have a “freelance” project/job of sorts.

My favorite of your designs is the “rain cloud grey” dreamcatcher — though they’re all beautiful! I’m on a huge gray kick at the moment, and I’d have a perfect place for that one . . . ;)

    • http://belongwithwildflowers.com/ Caitlin

Thank you so much, Meg! I love your scarves + you’re so right – it’s nice to have an inspirational project on the side :) The rain cloud dreamcatcher is secretly my favorite so far too!

Oh congrats Caitlin! This is SO exciting. And I know how daunting the whole shop idea is… I’m trying to get over my own limited beliefs about not having time. Hopefully my own shop will be open by the end of the year. Love your dream-catchers!

    • http://belongwithwildflowers.com/ Caitlin

Thank you! I completely understand about the time thing. Getting things ready even for a small launch like this required time sacrificed from other loved things. But in the end, it’s been worth the amazing feeling. Keeping my fingers crossed you get to start a small shop soon! And I’m so happy to read about your business taking off :)

This is so exciting!! Good luck, I’ve always wanted to open one as well but I have that pesky list as well!

Thanks Chantel! That design idea sounds lovely… if you end up designing all nature-themed, I’d love to see it :)

These are beautiful! I love the grey one! Good luck with this new endeavor! I love the background mission to save money for your farm. It’s lovely.

Thank you so much, Sarah! I appreciate your support so much!

Good for you, Caitlin! And you’re right, this can be done.
I recently read a blip about not limiting your success, but also wearing the size of your success until it grows. Meaning – we often say “I can’t” but other times we worry over trying to wear too large a success-size before we have grown into it. Neither help us. So, I like your approach – plod forward faithfully and consistently – growing your success and wearing it well at each of its stages. Well done!
This is a beautiful endeavor! Best, Emily Grace

Thank you, Emily Grace! “Wearing the size of your success until it grows” — I love this approach to success. You’re so right, we’re so used to saying ‘I can’t’ and limiting our abilities, when we simply need to grow into new roles. I appreciate your support!

  • Barb Bamber
